Volunteer Opportunity: Groundwater Testing Study

The Colorado Geological Survey is conducting a baseline study on radionuclides and metals in groundwater in the Lower Arkansas River area. This study is part of a multi-year project that has already been completed in areas including the Wet Mountain Valley, San Luis Valley, Gunnison County, and the Uravan Belt.

We are currently looking for volunteer participants—specifically homeowners who use private drinking water wells—to provide a water sample for testing.

Participation Information:

  • Free of charge (funded by a grant from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment)

  • Confidential – personal information will not be shared

  • Individual lab results will be sent directly to each homeowner

If you use a private well and are interested in participating, your contribution will help support public health and environmental research in our region.
